Strategy &
Innovation

We support companies in designing strategic processes from materiality analysis to the development of sustainable business models in order to recognise new opportunities at an early stage and create innovative, future-proof solutions that combine social, ecological and economic aspects.

Stakeholder Engagement

Advantages of strategy & innovation

In a rapidly changing world that is increasingly characterised by environmental and social challenges, sustainable innovations are of crucial economic importance. The development of products, services and business models that take environmental and social aspects into account not only ensures long-term success, but also opens up new market opportunities and competitive advantages.

Through sustainable innovations, we reduce our dependence on finite resources, minimise negative environmental impacts, operate within planetary boundaries and create added value for our stakeholders and society. It is also crucial to identify the key issues relevant to the company, set goals in these areas and work towards them with a forward-looking strategy. Innovative strength and strategy are therefore decisive factors in strengthening a company’s resilience and competitiveness.

Our offer

The requirements placed on companies with regard to environmental aspects and their impact or exposure are diverse and complex. We carry out materiality analyses with companies to determine the material and relevant topics for corporate action. The dual materiality method makes it possible to identify both the issues on which the company has an influence through its business activities (inside-out) and those that represent a financial risk for the company (outside-in). The resulting materiality matrix is used to record, evaluate and prioritise these key issues. This highlights the effects, opportunities and risks and enables a clear focus.

We support companies in developing their sustainability strategy based on the key topics. The definition of clear and ambitious sustainability goals forms the basis for effective implementation and monitoring of progress. We provide support in formulating SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound) and anchoring them effectively within the company. We also advise on the development of science-based targets (SBTs) and support the validation process through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) or the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN).

Innovative and sustainable business solutions are becoming increasingly important in the face of changing environmental conditions, social expectations and regulatory requirements. We support companies in developing future-proof products, services and business models that combine ecological and social responsibility with economic success. With a structured innovation process through SDGXCHANGE, we promote new approaches and jointly identify opportunities for sustainable growth. In this way, companies not only contribute to the transformation towards sustainable development, but also secure their long-term competitiveness. In order to utilise the potential of the circular economy, we support companies in jointly developing solutions, forming consortia and promoting transdisciplinary approaches. This creates sustainable industrial solutions that combine ecological responsibility and economic benefit.

From materiality to market maturity.
