Barbara Dubach spoke with Yvonne von Hunnius from the magazine BOOSTER on the benefits of business sustainability, why she believes that start-ups are driving forces in this area and how it is connected to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

In today’s world, business sustainability is clearly a competitive advantage – and this applies to start-ups, SMEs or even large companies. If companies are transparent and credible, they also enhance their reputation. This is crticial in the search for the best talent, who now expects a commitment to sustainability.

True business sustainability can be found mainly among startups. The decisive factor here is the readiness to change, as well as the will to make an effective positive contribution. All of this is often in the DNA of young companies. Large companies are more likely to think in terms of minimize risks or negative effects.
