This Tuesday, I had the honor of hosting the Innovate 4 Nature (I4N) dinner at the SDG Tent during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
We gathered to tackle a pressing question: how can we scale nature-positive solutions through collective action?
The room was filled by the presence of business leaders, policymakers, investors, and innovators, all focused on creating a roadmap from Davos to COP30 in Belém to drive concrete, immediate action on nature-positive solutions.
Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever, and other speakers shared powerful insights about the role of collaboration and innovation:
– Collaboration needs trust, and trust is built by actions, not words.
– Meaningful change comes from the right people, not just many people.
– Big companies often need smaller ones for creative and innovative ideas.
The evening also highlighted inspiring pitches from I4N winners like Savimbo, rrreefs, and Chemolex . Alongside these, roundtable discussions surfaced fresh ideas and actionable strategies.
With incredible leaders like Sandrine Dixson-Declève, Emeline Fellus, Carlos A. Nobre, Mirjam Staub-Bisang and Katrin Schneeberger, we explored critical steps businesses can take to accelerate nature-positive solutions:
- Achieve more value from a tree grown than a tree cut down.
- Focus on the need for innovation and collaboration at every level.
- Blend indigenous knowledge with technology for scalable solutions.
- Create ecosystems that connect start-ups with the right partners for growth.
- Invest in nature-positive solutions on the ground and at the start of the value chain.
Now, It’s time for us to turn these discussions into action.
By working together, we can create a regenerative future where business and nature works hand in hand.🤝
And a special thank you to my incredible team—Sibylle Grass, EMBA, Franck Barroso, Dr. Philipp Staudacher, and Katharina Reblitz—for making this event a success, and to InTent for supporting us.
