Last month at the COP16Riyadh Land of Opportunities Pitch Competition, I had the privilege of witnessing four remarkable nature-based solutions presented by AgriTech Analytics Limited, Ceres Seeding, SOS Carbon, and Herbou Alliance.
Among these innovative businesses that are creating jobs, revitalizing communities, and boosting local economies, AgriTech Analytics stood out to the jury as the most convincing.
AgriTech Analytics, a Kenyan agri-tech company, has developed a technology with 97% accuracy to empower smallholder farmers through AI:
🌱 Utilizing Sun and Satellites:
Farmers install specialized solar-powered IoT sensors in their fields, which combine real-time data with satellite imagery.
📲 Instant Insights:
Farmers receive updates directly on their phones via SMS, email, or a mobile app.
🌾 Crop Protection:
The sensors assess soil health, recognize over 1,500 crop pests, and identify more than 1,400 diseases, enabling farmers to take timely actions to safeguard their crops.
🌍 Inclusive Approach:
AgriTech Analytics targets smallholder farmers with less than 2 hectares of land, particularly in rural Africa. Their solar-powered technology is designed for remote areas, ensuring accessibility for all farmers.
