2025_03_27 Night at museum | Nacht im MuseumAm 27. März 2025 von Barbara Dubach auf LinkedIn gepostet (im Original auf Englisch)

Last week, I spent a night at the museum, but this time not for a tour – for a serious conversation about our planet’s future. Here’re my takeaways from the trip:

On Thursday evening, we shared Innovate 4 Nature goals during the European Biodiversity Coalition meeting at the Natural History Museum in Berlin.

I witnessed a powerful shift: corporations are ready to move from discussion to action on nature.

And 2 perspectives made me reflect on how to connect science and business:

Johannes Vogel, Director of the Natural History Museum Berlin, described museums as interfaces between science and society. He explained how they translate scientific insights to spark public discussion on how we use natural resources.

Doug Gurr, from the Natural History Museum London, presented the Biodiversity Intactness Index at the Villars Institute Summit. He emphasized that the index helps to understand the proximity of business operations to highly intact ecosystems and the effectiveness of conservation efforts.

The message is clear: if we want to make real progress, it matters where and how we protect nature.

At Innovate 4 Nature, we’re translating these insights into tangible solutions.

Now, we’re working with the European Biodiversity Coalition to create a system that connects companies with nature-positive solutions.

The goal:

→ Reduce nature-related business risks
→ Strengthen supply chains
→ Track real environmental impacts

Some examples of innovation projects we’re working on include packaging made from food production protein residues, materials derived from seaweed or algae, and modular, reusable packaging from industrial or upcycled agricultural waste.

If your organization is seeking nature-based solutions to strengthen your value chains, let’s connect. Together, we can align our efforts and create results that truly matter.

P.S. Thanks to David Diallo, Dr. Tobias Raffel, Harald Neidhardt, and Korbinian K. for building this with us.
