Last week at the World Economic Forum, I had eye-opening conversations, fresh insights, and deep reflection. Here’s what stood out the most:

The first event on my agenda: a small event and meditation in the Sertig Tal, where Catherine Cunningham’s game, Nature’s Return, was inaugurated.

During the ceremony an interesting phenomenon happened – an indigenous elder asked the wind to come—and we all immediately felt a gust of wind.

Coincidence? Perhaps.

But it was a powerful reminder of our connection to nature and the unseen forces around us.

The week continued with important discussions.

On Monday, together with Jonathan Normand Norman we explored going beyond GDP with the Swiss Impact and Prosperity Index. The conversation shifted from questioning the need for another index to examining the critical role of communication.

Later, RegenIntel’s performance at the Climate Hub became my highlight.
Chad Frischmann, Marc Buckley 🌍, Anna Lerner Nesbitt, Michael Ketigian, and Dr. Lyla June Johnston delivered a deeply emotional performance.

It touched us all—especially my son, who is now an economics student. He was introduced to the new regenerative economic models, like Kate Raworth’s doughnut economics, which aren’t part of his curriculum but are essential to consider for a sustainable future.

The evenings were equally inspiring, filled with engaging encounters.
At our I4N dinner, Paul Polman and other sustainability leaders shared what must be done to create a regenerative future.

Each conversation left me deeply reflecting on the need for change.

And one question still weighs on my mind.

How do we bridge two very different worlds?

One world, where business is focused on AI and growth. And the other, where people are working to achieve a regenerative economy.

Can the actions we’re taking—and the quiet revolution rising from the bottom up—really make a difference?

It’s a question we all need to confront.
