biodiversity science based target sb4nThe loss of nature and biological diversity threatens life on our planet and represents one of the most urgent challenges of our time. In order to meet these challenges, the cooperation of a wide range of actors is necessary. Companies play a central role. SB4N wants to support companies and relevant stakeholders in their effort to protect nature and conserve biodiversity. We provide a platform where all actors develop and share nature-based solutions.

On May 19th, the 2nd online impulse event of SB4N in collaboration with öbu will take place. The event focuses on science-based targets for Nature, where the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTI) allows companies to set science-based and impact oriented targets for their climate strategy and thus reduce emissions. Soon there will also be Science-based Targets for Nature. Companies and cities will be able to set targets for biodiversity and for the protection of nature and species.

Speakers:

  • Simon Zadek, Co-Director of the United Nations Environment Programme “Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System”.
  • Jessica McGlyn, Corporate Engagement Lead of the Science Based Targets Network (SBTN)
  • Judith Walls, Chair of Sustainability Management, Professor at the School of Management and Co-Director of the Institute for Economy and Environment (IWÖ) at the University of St.Gallen (HSG)
